Ingredients

Wrapper

  • 15-20 pieces Wonton Wrappers

Filling

  • 150 g Ground Pork
  • 4 leaves Napa Cabbage
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/3 Chinese Chives minced
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic grated
  • Salt and Pepper by preference
  • 2 cups Frying Oil
  • 2 Green Beans (Optional)
  • 1 Cheese Slice (Optional)
  • 1/4 Nori Seaweed (Optional)
  • 1/3 Carrot (Optional)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together ground pork, nappa cabbage, Chinese chives, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Fold the wonton wrapper as if you are folding a kabuto (Samurai Warrior Helmet). Check the pictures for how to fold the wrapper. At the end of the step, add the filling and close by folding the wrapper in.

  • Heat plenty of oil in a frying pan and fry the kabuto gyoza from Step 2.

Optional

  • Cut out a flower shaped carrot and diagonally cut cooked green beans. Add on the eyes to the green beans. The eyes are made with cut out cheese slices and nori seaweed. 
  • Place the fried Kabuto Gyozas on a plate and garnish with carrots and green beans from Step 4.
