Beef Tongue is a popular meat that is often enjoyed grilled. Grilled beef tongue is often enjoyed with shio-dare, a sauce based sauce. In this recipe, we added beef tongue as a topping for our Ramen Noodles Only Thin Straight! The chicken broth is made light so that the umami filled beef tongue and shio-dare can be enjoyed. Ingredients
Noodles
- 1 serving Ramen Noodles Only Thin Straight
Soup
- 1 tsp Chicken Bouillon Powder
- 1½ cup Hot Water
- Salt and Pepper by preference
- Sesame Oil by preference
Toppings
- 5 Thin-sliced Beef Tongue
- Salt and Pepper by preference
- Sesame Oil by preference
Shio-dare sauce
- ½ Green Onion
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 clove Garlic
- 2 tsp Sesame Oil
- Pepper by preference
Instructions
- Mince green onion and garlic. Mix the green onion and garlic with lemon juice, sesame oil, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Make small cuts around the beef tongue (to prevent the beef tongue from curling while being grilled), season with salt and pepper.
- Heat sesame oil in a frying pan and grill the beef tongue.
- To prepare soup, heat a pot of water and bring to a boil. Add chicken bouillon powder, season with salt and pepper to taste. The soup is ready.
- In a separate pot, bring water to a bowl to cook the noodles. After the noodles are cooked, drain well and place the noodles in a bowl.
- Add the soup to the bowl and place the beef tongue. To finish, pour the shio-dare sauce from step1 over the beef tongue and enjoy! As an optional topping, add mustard leaves for added flavor.
